Art for marketing's sake

Making it that much harder to judge a book by its cover, publishing giant Penguin is releasing a new line of paperback classics in the U.K. that come with blank fronts, backs and spines, leaving readers to pick up pencils and paintbrushes and design what they feel is appropriate cover art. Fyodor Dostoyevsky's Crime and Punishment, Oscar Wilde's The Picture of Dorian Gray, The Brothers Grimm's Magic Tales, Marcus Aurelius's Meditations, Virginia Woolf's The Waves and Jane Austen's Emma are the first six books to be released in the buff. They come with art-quality cover paper and can handle just about any medium. Currently available on Amazon.com, the books will arrive in Canada in the coming months. .
