Upcoming Exhibition: New Twist on Native American Art
TULSA, Okla., Jan. 18 /PRNewswire/ -- "This is an important part of revitalizing the Native American Art program at Philbrook," says Christina Burke, curator of Native American and Non-Western art at Philbrook Museum of Art. She is speaking about Philbrook's upcoming exhibition Changing Hands: Art Without Reservation 2 -- Contemporary Native North American Art from the West, Northwest and Pacific. "This exhibit showcases some of the best work in contemporary Native American art today -- including 25 artists whose roots are in Oklahoma," says Burke. "Philbrook has a mission to help foster the development of Native American art in the 21st century, so we are taking an active role in what's happening in Native Arts now." This is the second installment in this exhibition series created by the Museum of Arts & Design, New York.
